UseTogether is a community and an online platform through which people can gain access to resources without having to own them. Basically, members may lend, give away or swap objects and services at no financial expense. They may add things that they’re willing to share with others and they receive access to all the things other people have posted. UseTogether means wielding the things they own in an intelligent and sustainable way, saving money, natural resources and getting to meet nice, like-minded people. They want the experiences objects have to offer and not the objects themselves. They want to listen to music, they don’t want the CD. They want to read a book, not to own a book. They want their grass cut, not the lawn mower. Pareto’s principle applies to the things they own as well: 80% of the time, they use 20% of their possessions. UseTogether is for those who believe in trust between people, in the power of community and who are willing to give collaborative consumption a chance. UseTogether is for people who are willing to share; for those who understand that Sharing is caring and Living is giving.
