Kabakoo has been recognized by the UNESCO as one of the most innovative and groundbreaking learning organizations and selected by the World Economic Forum as a global pioneer for the future of learning which is “defining new models of education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” Most recently, Kabakoo won the Zoom EdInnovation Awards for the “boldest and brightest ideas supporting underserved youth around the world”. We are a tribrid-born organization leveraging a mobile app, offline learning communities and extended reality to transcend time and space and enable world-class learning's opportunities for the African youth. Kabakoo is an educational technology startup whose mission is to allow young people in West Africa to develop the mindset and skills to improve their lives in a setting that lacks formal jobs. Kabakoo has developed a community-driven upskilling approach that combines a mobile application with real-life networks of peers and mentors. Kabakoo Academies has crafted an unconventional offering through a learning approach focused on local impact and the integration of local knowledges with cutting-edge technologies. We make emerge a new generation capable of stewarding thriving communities and ecosystems and by the end of the decade we plan to serve yearly hundreds of thousands young people in a dozen of cities.
