GfI Gesellschaft für Informations- und Datenverarbeitung is an operative company of North German Pharmacy Computing Center eV (NARZ). GfI has developed into a comprehensive information center that provides pharmacists, clubs and associations with extensive information and data analyzes that they use for their economic and political activities. The electronic prescription (eVerordnung) will replace the paper prescriptions that have been customary up to now. From July 2021, doctors will be able to digitally prescribe their patients direct prescriptions in an introductory phase. From January 2022, the use of the e-prescription will be mandatory nationwide for those with statutory health insurance and pharmaceuticals that are only sold in pharmacies.
