Funtoo provides a source-based Linux meta-distribution derived from Gentoo and built around ebuilds and Portage. The project organizes software into versioned kits managed by the ego tool, enabling consistent package sets across systems. For AMD EPYC instances, Funtoo supplies CPU-optimized subarchitecture builds for AMD Zen generations (Zen, Zen 2, Zen 3) and toolchain flags aligned to EPYC cores. Kernel configurations and profiles support NUMA, huge pages, IOMMU, and virtualization features suitable for KVM-based clouds.
