Ekkono's product is built for purpose—to be embedded into the firmware of any device, even constrained devices, from a sensor to an embedded controller, a PLC, an ECU, an HMI, or a gateway. What's unique, besides the super-tiny footprint, is that Ekkono not only does inference but also training at the edge. A custom machine learning model is trained per installation/device/vehicle that represents its normal behavior. Besides enabling personalization, this offers better accuracy since the non-generic approach can focus on one specific scenario and condition, but it also speeds up training by using high-resolution sensor data at the edge instead of the blunt averages that are sent to the cloud. And it improves data integrity and enables cases where sensitive sensor data can't be sent to the cloud. Ekkono targets Automotive and Automation—industrial, building and product Automation. We enable Adaptive Automation where every machine learns how it's being used, detects deviations, and autonomously adapts to always run at its best. These are things that can only be learnt in operations, after the product leaves the factory. This is an evolution from programmable automation where you only solve problems and conditions that you already know, to where the product learns and adapts in a personalized fashion.
