Dyne.org company profile

Dyne.org is a non-profit organisation curating the international heritage of hacker culture since 1999. The organisation also produces free and open source software and operating systems that are of public interest. Supported by the work of hundreds of volunteers across the world, since the year 2013 it also works as an European research organisation after its first contract in the framework of "Citizen Awareness Platforms for Social Innovation" with the D-CENT project. Dyne.org focuses on the production of software tools and policy recommendations on various themes that are relevant to public sector administration both at a government and municipal level: participatory democracy, open data, smart cities, internet of things, complementary currencies and cryptographic technologies.
