Bold System is a cloud based platform for content collection and analysis that was created by the center for biodiversity genomics. A data portal an instructional site a registry of potential species and a workstation for data collecting and analysis make up its four core parts  a unique platform that enables teachers and students to explore barcode data and add new barcodes to the database. A biological method uses one or more standard genetic markers in an organism's DNA to identify it as being to a certain species. This method creates a data gathering and analysis environment that allows the assembly and validation of DNA barcodes and other sequence barcoding. By comparing unknown samples to a reference library this technique allows for the identification of unknown DNA samples to registered species.
