Blox Car is a peer-to-peer car sharing service where you can rent a car from a local. It is a digital marketplace which complements other forms of transport and offers the most cost-effective, easy and safe way to use cars without having to own one. One less car produced saves about 856 tons of CO2 emission since 30% of the emissions are created from the production and recycling of the materials used. The biggest benefits of the peer-to-peer business model is that it is operated without its own fleet harnessing existing resources. The benefits are financial, environmental and social. Our car sharing service has 10,000 registered users and over 600 cars listed in the service, out of which 150 are continuously available. It was awarded "Best Mobile Service Supporting Sustainable Development in Finland 2018" at Slush and we have been named one of "the most interesting companies in the circular economy in Finland" by The Finnish Innovation Fund, Sitra. Our services are based on open source, standards and interfaces. We believe that sharing data in the digital peer-to-peer marketplaces will help to establish and convey trust and empower the customers to control their own data. We belive that in the peer-to-peer market, cooperation between services is the key to success in the fragmented market.
