We are BetterQA, a “software testing only” company founded in 2018 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a vibrant IT community nicknamed the Silicone Valley of Eastern Europe. We are now around 50 employees, most of us from Cluj-Napoca, as well as a few colleagues from Hungary. Our vision is to help companies improve the quality of software delivered worldwide. More than 40% of the software development efforts are spent on testing. By focusing on a niche like software testing, we hope to make our mark in the IT industry. We want to achieve this by using a combination of onsite consulting, offshore test execution, tools and frameworks that will reduce the number of post-release defects. Once the feature spec has been written out, we review it to address and find problems before it gets implemented; the most cost-effective bugs are the ones found in documentation. 2. Writing automated or manual test cases for the spec while the development team is writing the code. 3. Executing the test plan against the newly implemented feature; 4. Bugs will be found – then we need to decide which ones should get fixed and which ones should get deferred. 5. Once the bugs get fixed, we'll do another test plan execution and to see if other areas of the product have been affected or not by the new changes; 6. When there are no more bugs to be fixed in the current sprint related to this feature, close out the story ticket and call it as accepted. A common misperception of testing is that it only consists of running tests. The test process also includes test planning, analyzing, designing, and implementing tests, reporting test progress and results, and evaluating a test object’s quality.
