Banpu Investment (China) Limited or BIC is a Chinese subsidiary of Banpu Public Company Limited, one of the leading energy companies in the Asia-Pacific region. Established in Thailand, Banpu has been developing extensive experience in coal and power businesses for more than three decades. At present, Banpu has a clear policy in pursuing the Greener & Smarter strategy, and a business vision that demonstrates its commitment to lead the Company into the new era of energy business as well as sustainability. The Company operates mainly in coal, power, renewable energy businesses in ten countries; Thailand, Indonesia, China, Australia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Singapore, Japan, the United States of America and Vietnam. Headquartered in Beijing, BIC manages two joint ventures underground coal mines located in Shanxi and Henan Provinces. BIC also manages three combined heat and power (CHP) plants located in the northern region of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), with a key project named Shanxi Luguang Power Co., Ltd.. In addition, BIC started to expand into renewable energy by investing five solar power projects in Shandong Province and one solar project in Zhejiang Province since 2016.With a combination of international professionals, a management team from its parent company as well as the competent local team, BIC is able to successfully enhance its Chinese operations and apply various global best practices to achieve state-of-the art operational standards.
