AVANI company profile

Avani produces eco friendly textiles, natural dyes and colors. We are an artisan`s collective purchasing raw material from local farmers to produce contemporary, natural textiles and colors for world markets. Our decentralized production model brings work to the artisans` homesteads, obviating the need to migrate for work. Avani`s production processes are non-polluting and sustainable meeting the global trends and environmental regulations in contrast to the current highly polluting textile and colorants industries. Avani`s business will have two streams of customers, B2C and B2B. For B2C we are looking at building and selling through retailers, direct exhibitions and franchises. We target discerning consumers who have the capacity to pay for high-quality products and care about the environmental, ethical and health impacts of production processes. These include urban affluent women, professional and hobby dyers, schools and parents concerned about toxic chemical dyes. We plan to set up one flagship store to showcase the brand. For the B2B customers, we are looking at small and medium craft enterprises and industrial manufacturers, both in textiles and cosmetics. We create sustainable rural employment by preserving traditional skills and conserving natural resources in Kumaon Himalayas. Our model supports rural lifestyles and strengthens local economies, thereby providing local women and youth with a choice to stay in their beautiful villages.
