Alertix Veterinary Diagnostics AB was founded in 2017. The goal of the company is to commercialize discoveries from Swedish veterinary medical biotech research. In particular concerning a new, powerful method for measuring the presence of the enzyme thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) in serum of animals important in veterinary medicine. TK1 is a biomarker for tumor growth and cell turnover. The substance has been detected in serum of patients even before they show clinical symptoms.
