AACBNC is an association whose members have to be chairs, going to act chairs, or permanent replacements appointed by the chair of departments of anatomy, cell biology, and neurobiology, or equivalent organizational units, in schools of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and osteopathic medicine, or universities awarding Ph. D.s in these fields in the local area. Members may also include institute or center presidents, directors, or permanent replacements designated by the president or director for educational or research purposes in the anatomical, cell biology, or neurological sciences.
