The Microsoft connector may ask you to enable Authenticated SMTP and IMAP for the mailbox before authorizing Dureach. First identify who manages the Microsoft 365 subscription: Microsoft directly or GoDaddy. An administrator should make only the changes required by the connector and allowed by company policy.
How do I update an account purchased from Microsoft?
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with an administrator account.
- Open Users → Active users, then select the mailbox being connected.
- Open Mail → Manage email apps. Check Authenticated SMTP and IMAP if the Dureach wizard requires both.
- Save changes and allow the provider time to apply them. Return to the Dureach wizard and continue with Microsoft authorization.
If a control is missing or disabled, ask the Microsoft 365 administrator to check organization wide authentication policies. Do not weaken a security policy solely to finish setup; use an approved connection path when available.
How do I update an account purchased through GoDaddy?
- Sign in to the GoDaddy account that manages the Microsoft 365 mailbox.
- Open My Products → Email & Office → Manage All, then select the affected mailbox.
- Open Manage → Account information → Advanced Settings and turn on SMTP Authentication if the Dureach wizard requires it.
- Save, allow the setting to apply, and retry authorization in Dureach.
GoDaddy menu names can differ by account. If the option is absent, use GoDaddy’s mailbox administration help or ask the account administrator instead of changing unrelated settings in Microsoft’s portal.
What if the connection still fails?
Check that you edited the same mailbox you selected in Dureach, saved the change, and waited for it to take effect. Confirm that the connector’s sign in window used the intended Microsoft account. A tenant policy can still override a mailbox setting. Send support the provider, mailbox address, time of the attempt, and a redacted error message. Never include passwords, recovery codes, or tokens.
