How to Review Responsive Email Before Sending

Use a simple mobile-friendly layout, then preview and test the campaign email. Check readability, links, images, and accessibility manually before launch.

A responsive email should remain readable and usable when the screen is narrow, images are blocked, or a reader uses assistive technology. No layout works identically in every inbox, so preview and test the message before sending it to a campaign audience.

Keep the layout easy to use

Use a clear reading order, short sections, and buttons or links that are easy to find and select. Check that text remains readable on a narrow screen and that the main action does not depend on an image. Add useful alt text to informative images; leave decorative images without redundant descriptions where the format allows it.

Do not rely on color alone to convey meaning. Make link text descriptive, preserve a logical heading order, and check contrast and text size. These are review steps, not a substitute for a full accessibility audit.

Preview and test the message

In the campaign editor, preview the message with representative lead data, check fallbacks for missing fields, and send a test email to an internal address. Review it on a narrow and a wide screen and, when available, in the inboxes your audience commonly uses. Open links and confirm that images, text, and unsubscribe details appear as intended.

Dureach’s campaign guide documents previewing and sending a test email; it does not establish automatic cross-client rendering or accessibility certification. Read the campaign setup guide for the documented workflow.

Before launch

  • Check the subject, sender, links, and unsubscribe behavior.
  • Confirm the key information and action remain clear on a phone-sized screen.
  • Inspect image descriptions and the message with images disabled.
  • Verify personalized fields with a representative record and a missing-value fallback.
  • Ask a colleague to review the final test if the message has important operational or financial details.

A preview can reveal issues, but it cannot guarantee how every recipient’s email client will display a message.
