Yo-Waste is a location-based mobile app, which is often compared to Uber but for waste management. It is an innovative solution that aims to address the waste management challenges in Kampala and other cities across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Yo-Waste app connects waste generators, such as households and businesses in urban communities, with waste collection agents in their locality who can pick up their waste. These waste collection agents are independent contractors who utilize their own vehicles to collect the waste and dispose of it in designated dumpsites or recycling centers.
