Wakulima Agri-Food Company (WAFCo) Limited is the young but dedicated private company incorporated under the Tanzanian Company’s Ordinance Act of 2002. The company is owned by ten (10) groups of smallholder farmers and individual farmers whose interests are to ensure smallholder farmers have adequate access to agricultural markets and finance to boost agricultural productivity, create jobs & employment opportunities for youth and women through agribusiness, increase households’ income, end hunger and malnutrition in Kagera Region and the country, Tanzania at large. The company works very closely with a total of 2132 smallholder farmers in Bukoba and Muleba Districts, Kagera Region, Tanzania for high quality production of orange-fleshed sweet potato to ensure youth and women have full employment in the sweet potato, pro-vitamin A maize and peas value chain. Apart from processing of TAMA Nutritious Flour, our company is the major supplier of orange fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) puree of which bakers use the same to process breads, cakes, biscuits, crisps, tambi, chichilli and WAFCo Best Bite.
