Moorcroft designed the first pieces of fine art pottery for Moorcroft while working for James Macintyre & Co. in 1897. As a graduate of what is now the Royal College of Art in London, William Moorcroft's new art pottery was immediately embraced by such prestigious stores as Liberty of London, Harrods, and Tiffany & Co. in New York. Early Moorcroft is highly sought after by the most prestigious auction houses around the world and fetches high prices.
