Recently renovated and expanded, Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina offers a pleasant environment in which to pursue various academic programs, including those designed for active military and cadets. Fayetteville State University is an HBCU. Academically, Fayetteville State University (FSU) has strong programs across the board. Students can major in the Liberal, Performing and Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social and Natural Sciences. Professional programs are also offered in such fields as Education, Social Work and Nursing. In addition to this standard academic fare, FSU has an ROTC program for military cadets that combines military training with academic study. With its newly renovated or constructed buildings, FSU is now outfitted with comfortable and updated classrooms and labs. With new performing arts facilities and campus residences as well, the FSU renovations have also enhanced student life. High school transcripts, ACT or SAT scores, a personal statement and a passing score on the North Carolina placement exam are the admissions requirement for freshman applicants. Students who meet certain requirements and maintain a certain level of academic performance may receive financial aid.
