On Tuesday 2nd February 2016 The Bison Arms closed its campaign to crowdfund no. 80 East Street, with £150,000 of investment secured. 60 days prior to that, Jack, Nick and Simon teamed up with 64 Degrees to set about providing a real alternative to a Burger King opening at the original entrance to the Old Town of Brighton. It was all or nothing – raise the required £100,000 to redevelop the premises or risk the big multinational coming in. Brighton responded, and had it their way – raising £50,000 over the target with interest from all over the UK and beyond. With support from the residents and MP Caroline Lucas, the team have begun their journey to restore the pub to something like its former glory.
