Scripto is a collaborative writing, media data, and script management system created by Stephen Colbert and his team. Scripto solves several common problems in scripted media production and has grown to power some of the best-known and prestigious shows on TV including The Late Show, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight, and SNL Weekend Update, with clients including WarnerBrosDiscovery (Max, CNN), Paramount/CBS, NFL Films, and NBCU. Scripto addresses numerous scripted media categories that share common requirements, including: • Narrative Scripted Film/TV • Video Games • Corporate Video • Award Shows • Podcasts • Scripted Streaming Content These requirements are not being met by incumbent solutions because they are either standalone non-collaborative desktop software in the era of cloud platforms (Final Draft), lack the industry-specific functionality to support required workflows (Google Docs and Sheets), or lack API-based connectivity to support a connected ecosystem. Additionally, Scripto’s API-accessible platform uniquely positions us as a System of Record for IP owners, and a Single Source of Truth for partners and licensees, creating foundational value in the emerging AI ecosystem that depends on the availability of authenticated script-based data, regardless of which AI tools a client uses.
