Save for Health Uganda company profile

Save for Health Uganda develops and supports community-based health insurance schemes that pool member contributions to cover essential health services. The organization mobilizes households through local groups, guides the formation of member-owned schemes, and trains leaders on governance, premium setting, and benefits design. It provides technical assistance for provider contracting, referral arrangements, enrollment procedures, claims review, and financial management. Programs include health education and financial literacy for members, monitoring and evaluation of scheme performance, and documentation of lessons for scale-up. Save for Health Uganda also conducts research and policy advocacy on community health financing and contributes inputs to discussions on universal health coverage. Partnerships with health facilities, civil society, and public institutions expand access to care while strengthening accountability between members and providers.
