RiTE Ugljevik predominant activity is the production of thermoelectric energy and the exploitation and sale of coal. The main works on the construction of the Mine and Thermal Power Plant "Ugljevik I" with a capacity of 300 MW and an average annual production of 1560 GWh, began in 1977, and were completed in 1985 when the Thermal Power Plant entered regular operation. The thermal power plant is supplied with coal from its own mine. Based on the proven coal reserves and the needs of the thermal power plant "Ugljevik I", a surface mine "Bogutovo Selo" with an annual capacity of 1.75 million tons of coal was built. In the coming years, the opening of a new surface mine "Ugljevik East" is imminent, from when the thermal power plant will be supplied with coal in the future.
