RAV Antivirus was founded in 1994 to primarily meet the growing security needs of internet service providers and Linux users. Within just a few years of it's inception, RAV established an impressive global presence and became the anti-virus of choice for millions of users worldwide. RAV's state-of-art technology and development talent attracted the attention of Microsoft which was scouting for the appropriate technology and team to launch it's security initiatives. In mid 2003, RAV's technology and development team was acquired by Microsoft in a transaction that made headlines in the technology space and firmly positioned GECAD a a major international technology group.
