Founded in 1974 by Jacques Fortin, Éditions Québec Amérique has become over the years a true cultural institution where rigor and originality are points of attachment. Novels, essays, dictionaries and encyclopaedias feed a diversified catalog that serves the prestige of the company, a true publisher of words and images. In 1989, Québec Amérique International (QAI) was born as a result of the success of the first version of the Visual Dictionary . By creating this division of the company, Jacques Fortin concretized the dream of conquering foreign markets and to make known the know-how of his company on the five continents. QAI publications are now sold in more than 100 countries and distributed in 35 languages. Thanks to the rapid growth of communication means all over the world, Québec Amérique is increasingly focusing its development on the dissemination and marketing of its products via the Internet and on digital media. The mission pursued by Québec Amérique is to create a catalog in which all literary genres coexist and to exercise uncompromising editorial choices to publish quality books, with the constant aim of promoting the career of its authors. For 40 years now, Québec Amérique has focused on supporting and enriching a national literature, while maintaining a rigorous and coherent editorial policy.
