Situated in Recife District and Santo Amaro, in the capital of Pernambuco, Porto Digital is a leading the country Technology poles and results from the implementation of public policies through partnerships between the private sector, universities and government institutions. Administered by the social organization (OS) Porto Digital Management Unit, the IT hub develops ICT solutions (Information and Communication Technology) services of the Creative Economy sector, and employs around 7100 people in 240 institutions located and has revenues of around R $ 1 billion. Most of these projects were born of outbound projects of Pernambuco universities. Situated in the Santo Amaro neighborhood and on the island that gave birth to the city of Recife, Porto Digital also has the mission of promoting the revitalization of this historic site which was one of the major trading centers of colonial Brazil. With the recovery of old buildings held by the OS, and the coming of IT companies for the district, it has been revitalized and built over 50 thousand square meters.
