Oritia & Boreas is engaged in applied investigation, technological development, and advanced consulting in the study of wind effects on structural systems such as buildings, bridges, flexible structures, renewable energy systems, and sports science. Working in two core divisions: structural control and monitorization, and social aerodynamics, the company focuses on global structural loads, including the dynamic component in the form of equivalent static loads and load combinations; pressure distribution in the design of façade elements; maximum accelerations for serviceability; aeroelastic phenomena; fatigue analysis of individual structural elements due to dynamic excitation; local wind speeds and human comfort analysis; environmental efficiency and natural ventilation; and wind field studies for town planning. Oritia & Boreas also offers rapid prototyping services that enable clients to obtain 3D models of a project for early design and concepts, functional testing, or producing finished parts. Models are built using 3Dsystems liquid polymer multi-jet modeling technology, where a guided extrusion head deposits micro-drops of acrylic plastic and instant UV cured. These 3D models can be sanded, milled, drilled, glued, painted, plated, and so on. Oritia & Boreas was founded by José María Terrés-Nícoli and Christian Mans in January 2010 and is based in Granada, Spain.
