Nido focuses on the development, manufacture and marketing of efficient and low-cost underwater robots aimed at the underwater sector. The startup has gone through the accelerator Ocean Blue in 2017, with funding from the Xunta de Galicia, and they are currently part of the Shuttle program. They do not have any individual investors, except for a small group that participated in a 3F round (friends, family and own funds) that took place in 2017 and where they managed to raise €25K, with a valuation of 200K. Nido allows to reduce the risk for personnel working in an underwater environment (activity that always harbors certain risks) and the cost of inspection, maintenance, underwater repair, scientific research, etc. In addition its technology allows an improvement of CAPEX and OPEX. In less than two years, the company's activity has been recognized with several awards and grants, such as the Emprendia loan granted by the ICREF and the Murcia Development Institute (valued at €50,000), being part of the RYME + Internationalization program, the recognition as 'Startup of the Month' granted by the Institute of Development of Murcia, and the prize 'Start-up of the year' of Murcia Initiation of the City of Murcia (including €14,000 to fund lost, plus €3.6K of ENAE Business School) . They also received the 2017 INFO-CLH Entrepreneur of the Year award. The headquarters of Nido is in Murcia, from where they maintain commercial relations with different countries of the European Union, such as Greece, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Norway and Latin America. They have already sold more than 60 robots, characterized by the high capacity to adapt to the specific needs of each use case, and without losing the possibility of being produced in series. Apart from this capacity of "Mass Customatization", the production processes and the materials used allow them to be extremely competitive in terms of costs.
