Luminex Corporation develops, manufactures, and sells biological testing technologies and products with applications throughout the life sciences and diagnostics industries. The Company's Multi-Analyte Profiling (xMAP) technology, an open architecture, multiplexing technology, allows simultaneous analysis of up to 500 bioassays from a small sample volume, a single drop of fluid, by reading biological tests on the surface of microscopic polystyrene beads called microspheres. xMAP technology combines this miniaturized liquid array bioassay capability with small lasers, digital signal processors, and software. The Company operates in two segments the technology and strategic partnerships (TSP) segment, and the assays and related products (ARP) segment.
