IVO Driver Robot provides an autonomous robot that can convert any vehicle into an autonomous one. Users can seat the autonomous robot in any car in 5 minutes and take control over the driving task. It connects to the steering wheel and the pedals, and operates the vehicle as if it were a human driver. The user gives it a goal using Google maps, and IVO drives autonomously, while detecting and avoiding obstacles. It uses only optical sensors, namely cameras. This forces users to develop innovative image processing and computer vision algorithms for robust road detection and object detection.
