Laboratorios Larrasa is the first biotechnology company in Extremadura, declared a "spin-off" by the University of Extremadura. It is focused on the realization of Veterinary Clinical Diagnostics, Preparation of Autovaccines and Food Analysis. In addition, it is considered an Intensive R + D + i company, focusing its research lines on the development of low density bio-Chips applicable to animal genetic selection using MALDI-TOF technology. The company has expanded its portfolio of services through the implementation of Antibiotic Sensitivity Studies on field isolations of the collection it holds and the performance of Cosmetic Products Evaluations for official registration purposes. To this end, the company has built its new facilities, consisting of a Laboratory of High Biological Safety (Level 3) with an area of ​​745m2. It constitutes the first and only laboratory of high biological security of Extremadura of private scope. Currently, the company is taking its Internationalization process throughout 2010 through the creation of a subsidiary in Brazil where the commercial exploitation of its derivative developments in R & D & I will begin.
