KATHREIN Romania was founded in 2000, the main activity being the production of mobile communications antennas, broadcast antennas, terrestrial reception antennas (for CATV) and commercial terrestrial antennas. This latter category constituted most of the production in the first years of its activity, its share then declining in favor of mobile communications antennas. Since 2004, the production of mobile communications antennas has steadily increased, reaching over 96% of total production volume. Production areas have doubled their surface. The year 2008 brings a new increase in production areas of up to 7,000 square meters, a further increase in the number of employees, up to 630 and, of course, a higher turnover: 39 million euros. The structure of production is changing, new types of antennas appear in the 900, 1800 and 2000 MHz bands. The production of mobile communications antennas is today geared towards new generation antennas, incorporating advanced technologies with a high degree of complexity. Antennas are assembled in accordance with strict quality requirements. KATHREIN Romania is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards for quality and environment management.
