Annually, over 175,000 patients in the US undergo mechanical thrombectomy, but existing devices have low success rates and high rates of disability and mortality. Inretio is working on a new solution for clot retrieval during thrombectomy that aims to minimize complications and improve outcomes for stroke patients. The PREVA clot retriever is the only device that offers protective clot retrieval using a distal basket, providing access to clots in remote areas. The device uses a PREVA basket to encapsulate and remove the clot, safeguarding the brain from sub-clots during mechanical thrombectomy. This results in, potentially, the complete removal of the clot and fragments, ensuring the full restoration of blood flow to the brain.
