The Illinois Green Business Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping small businesses integrate sustainable practices through education and engagement. Their mission is to make sustainability a standard practice in economic activity, fostering healthy, mutually beneficial relationships among companies, communities, and consumers. IGBA offers the Illinois Green Business Program in partnership with the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC) at the University of Illinois. This program provides businesses with technical assistance and assessments to drive environmental and economic savings. The organization also offers a certification program with six categories: Energy, Pollution Prevention, Solid Waste, Transportation, Water, and Community. These categories help businesses identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to reduce their environmental impact.
