Company profile

IKAP Robotics Laboratory company profile

Founded in 2011 in Iran by Hamid Anbari and Mohsen Banijamali, IKAP Laboratory operates as an entirely self-funded entity. Initially, IKAP set its sights on the development and manufacture of robotics engineered for hazardous environments. This focus was specifically targeted towards applications within oil and gas pipelines, oil reservoirs, and sewer systems. Since its inception, IKAP has forged partnerships with over 100 entities across both the public and private sectors, leading to the creation of dozens of custom-designed robots tailored to the specific needs of its clientele. Leveraging its extensive experience in robotics and automation, IKAP expanded its focus to include technologies aimed at enhancing the quality of daily life. A hallmark of this new direction was the development of Olive, the first robotic smart suitcase. This innovation marked the beginning of a novel category within robotics—personal assistant robots, a concept pioneered by Hamid Anbari, the CEO and founder of IKAP. The year 2016 saw IKAP achieve a significant milestone by securing the top position at the Startup World Award competition in Germany, a testament to its leadership in the global robotics startup scene. This accolade paved the way for several international collaborations, culminating in the relocation of IKAP Robotics from Iran to Germany in 2019.
