HOYA CORPORATION is engaged in the manufacture and sale of electronics-related products, imaging products, healthcare products and medical products. The Company operates in three business segments The Information and Communication business segment has two divisions. The Electronics division offers photomasks and mask blanks for semiconductors, liquid crystal displays masks and hard drive (HDD) for glass disk use. The Image division provides optical lens, digital camera modules and optical devices, among others. The Life Care segment has two divisions. The Healthcare division offers ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses. The Medical division provides endoscopes, intraocular lenses and artificial bones. The Others segment is involved in the building of information systems. On October 1, 2011, the Company established a wholly owned subsidiary to takeover the manufacture and sale of imaging system from HOYA, and sold all shares of the newly established subsidiary to Ricoh Company, Ltd.
