Heelstone founded in 2012 and since that time it has experienced steady growth and solidified itself as a leader in the industry. Its founders leveraged their extensive structured finance expertise to acquire early and mid-stage development projects in solar markets across the country. As Heelstone continued to grow and evolve, it was able to organically develop an expertise spanning all components of the downstream solar value chain; that is, greenfield development, mid-stage development, finance, construction, and operation. In 2019, Heelstone received an investment from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s (NYSE: ARES) Infrastructure and Power Group (AIPG). With that investment and the deep industry expertise and support from the AIPG team, Heelstone will continue to expand its development capabilities and reach as a utility-scale solar developer.
