EMAYA company profile

EMAYA is a public company, with 100% municipal capital, of the Palma City Council. Its function is to manage the public services provided to the public regarding the integral water cycle (from supply, treatment and supply, to sanitation and reuse), selective collection of urban solid waste and street cleaning , guaranteeing maximum quality and efficiency, within a framework of sustainability. EMAYA has an average workforce (2018) of 1,427 people, which are distributed in the areas of Urban Quality (cleaning and waste collection: 946 people), Water Cycle (supply, networks, laboratory, purification, etc .: 326 people) and corporate services (projects and innovation, human resources, administration, citizen care, communication, corporate social responsibility, etc .: 152 people). This human team makes it possible to capture, supply and purify more than 30 hm³ of water each year for 500,000 people, manage 1,540 km of water pipes, clean 1,400 km of public roads and selectively collect more than 245,000 tons of waste. All this always with the objective of ensuring the quality of life of the citizens of Palma and the preservation of the environment, and doing so with innovation and continuous improvement as milestones of EMAYA services.
