Drogheria e Alimentari was founded in 1880, and since 1987 the Carapelli and Barbagli families have been the main shareholders of the Company. Thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of the families in just a few years the Company became leader in the Italian market of spices and herbs. Drogheria e Alimentari is one of the few companies in the world that invests directly in the spice producing countries, by establishing partnerships or joint ventures with local producers in order to have a direct control on the farming. The Company sells its products, both in Italy and abroad, through the retail channel and cash & carry with its own brand (Drogheria&Alimentari) and with private label. Drogheria e Alimentari employs more than 130 staff in its manufacturing facility of S. Piero a Sieve, one of the most modern and advanced in Europe.
