Company profile

Balex Marine South Pacific company profile

From grassroots beginnings, like all great inventions, the idea for the Balex system spawned from a real life problem... inventor Lex Bacon's observations and frustrations with launching and retrieving boats. It’s difficult, often dangerous and always stressful! After multiple iterations and lots of great support from the marine and startup industry, the Balex Automatic Boat Loader 2500 was launched in 2014 to an overwhelming response, with Hutchwilco Boatshow Awards and industry accolades. In 2016, two Kiwi entrepreneurs and old university friends, Dan and Reon got involved with Balex and helped expand and streamline the supply chain. As keen fishermen and divers they saw great potential in the product, so in 2017 they took over management of the company. Building on Balex’s mission to make boating more accessible for everyone, the team is driven to develop products to help everyone spend more time out on the water enjoying boating.
