Africa of Our Dream Initiative company profile

Following the adoption of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 25th September 2015, almost all the first world countries have been committed to contributions allowing the advancement of a sustainable world. These SDGs are integrated, indivisible and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development – ‘Economic, Social and Environment.’ Interestingly, the Chemical Sciences domain is a key contributor to the SDGs as they provide solutions for achieving these goals. However, third world countries like Nigeria lack the required scientific instrumentation, soft skills, job opportunities and academia-industry research due to a decline in chemical science education which further creates a wide gap in achieving these SDGs. Graduates of chemical sciences in Nigeria and Africa are thereby left with majorly good and proven theoretical knowledge but inadequate technical skills to match up the knowledge; unfortunately making them unemployable as compared to their counterparts in the developed nations. This is where AODI comes in. To bridge this gap lay a foundation for a sustainable and prosperous Africa through investment in quality education and opportunities in science and technology.
